{ Favorite Feature } - Kelly

One of my very best friends, Kelly, let me take over her son's nursery yesterday.  It is one of the cutest things I have ever seen and I know you are just going to love it!  I'm not sure if it is her favorite feature, but it is mine and since this is our blog we get to make the rules.

Isn't it so adorable!  The awesome part about it is that her husband refinished most of the furniture and it looks absolutely amazing!
I think her little guy definitely loves his bed.

Love the use of the rope to tie back the curtains.

Thanks so much Kel for letting me share your darling nursery!

Oh....and Happy Halloween from our little pumpkin

{ GUEST DESIGNER } - Brooke from Black Goose Design

We thought we needed a little T.R.E.A.T. since its Friday and all...
With amazing pleasure and appreciation we present Brooke from The Black Goose Design.  She has just finished designing her darling play room for her two beautiful girls.  Believe us when we say this isn't any ordinary play room.

If you live in Utah and haven't been to Black Goose you must leave your computer right now and head to see Brooke and her amazing designers.  Not only do they have beautiful products, but they also have a full staff of designers.
They also do custom upholstery.

The play room!  I want to come play too!!

We warned you that it would knock your socks off!

She made this pillow to replace the Dwell Studio pillow at Target.  We like her version so much better!  Gotta love me some polka dots.
She used favorite song versus and characters of her daughters to decorate the wall.

It's so pretty I wouldn't want to touch anything!
She has taken cards given to her daughters by family and friends and stuck them in this vintage shutter.
Such a fun idea!
Do we even need to say anything?

As a treat, we thought we would give you a little peek into her kitchen.

Oh and her daughter's bedroom.

Thank you so much Brooke for letting us inspire our readers with your beautiful designs!
Now go to The Black Goose right now!  Oh and bring lots of'll want one of everything.

Just as a might want to start following The House Undone right now if you aren't already!  We just might be doing a giveaway next week from The Black Goose Design.

{ DESIGN SERVICES } - Las Vegas Client

We recently had a client contact us from Las Vegas that had some serious concerns about her rental home and wanted our help.  They were only there temporarily and the landlord wouldn't allow major changes like paint, etc. so we did the best we could with what we had.  We love how it turned out but most importantly the client loves that her temporary houses looks more like her.

They have a pretty large family with younger kids so storage was a must.

Here is our initial mood board that was approved by the client on the very first go!

We love that it has a lot of color and pattern.  You will see that this house is all beige and was screaming for color.

All design decisions were done with the client over email and phone calls.  We didn't step one foot in Vegas for this job....believe me....we were sad!

I think I am a rule breaker in the interior design world because I like to pick my rug and pillow fabric first!  You know how what you learn in school doesn't have much truth to what you do in the real world?  I like to pick the rug first because I think when you fall in love with a rug sometimes it helps you with the inspiration for the rest of the room.  It's harder to match a rug with the furniture and accessories.  It's easier for me to find the rug and pillows and match the accessories to them.  Make sense?

No, this adorable baby wasn't originally in the design but I think he "goes" quite well with the mood.

Unfortunately, the landlord wouldn't let us "tweak" this wonderful wallpaper.  It does look 1000 X better though!

Like I said before, storage was a must and it was like this piece from IKEA was made for this alcove.  We literally had 1/2 an inch on each side.  It was just meant to be!

This holds more than you actually think.  The boxes are really deep and wide.  I have one in my house and it is so convenient to stock one bin with diapers and wipes in those times where you are too lazy to walk the 20 feet to the bedroom (which is 100% of the time in my house).  Toy clean up is a breeze.  In fact, my little one loves to pull out the bins and put her toys back.
More storage space for pictures, mementos, etc.  This piece was original to the client so we just spiffied it up a bit.

We threw in these bold vases so your eyes were instantly drawn away from the gorgeous wall paper.

In love with these pillows!  Thankfully, my client is pretty talented with the sewing machine so I was able to order the fabric and ship it right to her.  She whipped these babies out in no time!

And there you have it....a temporary solution to a temporary space.  Even if you are just renting it doesn't mean you can't have a space you enjoy.  All of these pieces will go amazing in their next permanent home.

Thanks to our wonderful clients for making The House Undone possible!

Designing Services - Mood Boards

We thought because we are doing a giveaway here for one of our mood boards we should probably explain how the process works and what our customers receive.  We have had a few questions sent our way and now is the perfect time to explain.

If you haven't entered or don't win and would still like to do a mood board please contact
The House Undone for a consultation.

1.  We will email you our mood board form that asks basic questions about the room.  Obviously we need to know the details...
2.  We will begin pulling product and creating your mood board.  We want to make sure you are comfortable with the products we are pulling so we like to get a ballpark estimate on your budget.  It wouldn't be much fun if our board was over your budget.
3.  We will send you a draft mood board so you can see what you like and what you don't.  We typically do one redo but of course if there are little changes we are happy to do whatever we need to to ensure our customers are happy.
4.  After changes are made, we will send you a finalized mood board.  This comes with the mood board, room layout, product and price list.  That way you can begin purchasing the products at your convenience.  If you can't purchase everything at's yours to do whatever you want with it.
5.  We also will consult with you after the products are purchased if you have any questions.  Obviously, with us not actually designing your room in person some things may need to be adjusted once purchased.

Below is an example of our initial mood board for a client.

After their initial review, we came up with something that is exactly what they wanted.  Our main goal is to make the client happy because it is your house after all!

We are providing our full services to this client by ordering the product and installing it in their home.  If you are interested in our full designing services, please email The House Undone for a consultation.

Thanks and good luck to all those that entered!

We truly appreciate our readers and our clients.  We couldn't do this without you!
