Bedroom Refresh....DONE!....I think....

I finally feel like I LOVE my bedroom....with the exception of the rug....or the lack there of.  I haven't found exactly what I am looking for and don't just want to buy any old rug.

It's turned out to be exactly what I wanted....and it only took me 6 years!

I wanted it to feel like a beach oasis but also have a few pops of color.  I would have never picked this bedspread in the past and honestly wasn't sure if I really like it when I got it home, but it has really grown on me and now I am in love.

I apologize for the pictures not being the highest quality.  Honestly, I am never home when it is light outside.  I leave when it's dark and I get home when it's dark.

I recently added the EXTRA long drapes from IKEA.  They were the finishing touch to my beach oasis bedroom.

I bought this super inexpensive birdcage at a local grocery store and filled it with moss, seashells, driftwood and even a really cute bag that looked like something you would find on a fishing boat.

You wouldn't believe this, but that window pane once was blue.  I also added the door knob and lock and key.

Of course a "beachy" theme should come with a big comfy chair, pillow and blanket.....oh and don't forget the good book.

The metal piece above the bed has been there since the day we moved in.  I can't seem to part with it because it fits like a glove.

I love this basket!  Might be my favorite item in the bedroom.  I filled it with miscellaneous shells and a few old books I found in my grandparents basement.

To be honest, I'm really not loving this wreath.  It was a super good deal at a local store and I think I bought it because it was cheap and not because I loved it.  What do you think?  Is it a total mess??

Well, that's my bedroom "refresh".

Oh and my resolution......cooked 2 days in a row!  That's quite the accomplishment for me.  Don't even ask if it is good.....cooking is first and it being tasty is second!

Thanks for visiting my bedroom!

Resolutions

First of all, we hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas!

One of my favorite things to do after Christmas is put all of my decorations away.  I know, that seems really strange but I love the feel of my clean simple house after everything is put away.  I like it call it "refreshing".  It is a perfect excuse to move things around and use items that have been tucked away in the closet for a few months.  I am in the process of "refreshing" right now and will share pictures as soon as I am done.  I love the feeling of a newly organized and rearranged living room.  Doesn't it feel like an entirely different room when you just rearrange a few items you already have?

I was looking at Pinterest today for some organizational inspiration and of course I was completely overwhelmed by all of the wonderful ideas.  I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people have repined my DVD organization.  It always makes you feel good when you can make someone else's life a little easier.

My other resolution....

Cooking!  I absolutely hate it and as a result my family eats out way too much.  I'm going to try cooking at least 3 times a week.  I've got a few cooking ideas off of Pinterest, but would love any suggestions of good sites to visit that are super easy.  Crock pot cooking is preferable because then I can just throw it in before I go to work.

Thanks for your help!  I would love to hear your resolutions.

A little....MIA lately

We apologize for not being as consistent with our little blog as we have been in the past.  When Shellie and I started The House Undone, we never imagined we would be as busy as we are.

Between all of our wonderful clients, working on our own projects, oh and that thing that occupies 40-50 hours of our week, it just seems like we haven't been able to balance it all.

Yes, we both have full time jobs and just do this little hobby on the side.  We love our decorating biz and all of the wonderful people we have met, but realistically we can't post every single day.

To maintain a little of our sanity and spend time with our amazing families, we've decided to cut down on The House Undone blog to 2-3 posts per week.  I truly hope this disappoints some of you!  Not in a bad way, but it's exciting to know we have faithful readers.

So, cheers to the new year and a bunch of new projects!  We are planning on posting our Christmas decor pictures this weekend.  A little late, we know.

Thanks again to all of you that stop by to read The House Undone.  All of your encouragement and support means so much to us and we couldn't do it without you!

And a special thanks to our current sponsors!
